On April 11, 2008 my good friend and fellow racer, KJ, was involved in a terrible crash and lost his life.
Karting actually has a very good safety record, and the circumstances involved in this incident were very unfortunate.
Proper safety barriers should be in place at all tracks,
and KJ's parent's are taking steps to makes sure this type of incident never happens again.
